saturday was full! most of our friends and families were available that day, so it made everything jam-packed.
breakfast with michelle, tour of lee’s summit and raytown (areas where i grew up), lunch with cousins, nelson-atkins museum of art, kemper contemporary art, plaza, dinner with jack and suzanne, waterfire with heather and bryan.
waterfire is a free art installation that started in kansas city after i lived there, but it is a “multisensory” art experience, with fires lining brush creek (feel warmth from the fires, smell the smoke), musical and visual arts performances (see, listen), vendors from local restaurants selling food (taste). besides it being very chilly, it was a neat experience. the website said that over 35000 people attended the event last year!
