yummers!

on fourth of july, we:

1. watched movies

2. played settlers of catan

and

3. made chocolate molten cake

all of which were wonderful! while we were playing catan, we caught up on masterchef. yes, we know, we watch a lot of food shows. anyways, they had a challenge on there for making chocolate molten cake. and suddenly, we became inspired to make this. also, our sweet teeth were really wanting to plunge in to some delicious chocolate lava.

anyways, we found a perfect gluten-free recipe, sized it down to make two portions and set to work.

since we have two ramekins, we just portioned the original recipe down, here are the portions we used:

4 oz. semi-sweet chocolate

1/4 C. butter

2 T. brown sugar

1 t. vanilla

1 1/2 t. cocoa powder

pinch salt

preheat oven to 400 degrees F. melt the chocolate and butter together over a double boiler. in the meantime, whisk together brown sugar, vanilla, cocoa powder and salt. prepare the ramekins by giving the inside a light film of butter, and then coating them with sugar. remove any excess sugar. once the butter and chocolate have melted, combine with the remaining ingredients. fill the ramekins 3/4 of the way full and place on a baking sheet.
