chocolate chip cookies are, without a doubt, one of the best things a person can eat. well, last time i went food shopping i purchased the ingredients to make some, and then told matt my plans.
well, he didn’t forget that. he thankfully reminded me that i had wanted to make them. so, i took it upon myself to make the cookies today!
this is the recipe i’ve made since i was about 9, and you know, it is one of those things that if it works, then don’t mess with it. here you go!
1 c butter
1/4 c sugar
3/4 c brown sugar
1 pkg instant vanilla pudding mix
1 t vanilla
2 1/4 c flour
1 t baking soda
1 pkg chocolate chips
preheat your oven to 350 and grease cookie sheets, or place your baking stone in the oven while it preheats. cream the butter, sugars, pudding mix and vanilla. add eggs. add flour, soda and chocolate chips. spoon dough onto cookie sheet/baking stone and bake for 12-15 minutes.
let me say a word about my baking stone (yes, i love it). i’ve always previously used cookie sheets to make these cookies, however since i now have a baking stone i wanted to know what the difference would be. the difference yielded a difference in the texture of the cookies–it made the bottom of the cookie a little crisp, while not making the whole rest of the cookie hard. i would recommend a baking stone to anyone who is questioning or thinking about it, and then try it out in different ways to see what you like and don’t like to use it for!
